I had the honor to work very closely with the amazing team at Samsung Thales to support their FFX-I naval combat system for the Republic of South Korea. For this to work I flaw and spend a week onsite debugging and fixing the issues they were experimenting with the middleware software used.
As you can see on this public announcement, the FFX-I combat system’s was essentual for target detection, tracking, threat assessment, weapon control and efficient combat execution to allow operation with a minimum of personnel.

I had to wortk closely both with Shamsun Thales and the Agency for Defense Development (ADD). The issues were escalated and that was the reason I went onsite to solve the problems we could not do remotely, and theit testing environment is isolated from the outside and it is complex to reproduce issues outside of it.
Even though I cannot reveal the nature of the issues, what I can say is that the issues I debuffed onsite involved knowledge not only of real-time OSs but also of Board Support Packages and expertise at the C layer of the DDS messaging protocol.
